A Brunswick Heads Landcare Adventure…
Free event for young locals who are passionate about the environment. Meet awesome people, learn about weeds, plant a tree and enjoy kayaking and cruising on the beautiful Brunswick River. BBQ included. This event will kick-start an Intrepid Landcare in our community and connect the North Coast to the national movement.
What: Weeds and Waves, Brunswick Heads Landcare Adventure
When: 27th August 2016
Time: 10am-4:30pm
Where: Brunswick Heads beach-side location (details provided on registration)
Who: Local peeps 18-30 years old
Cost: FREE!
10am – 12.30pm – Planting and Weeding with the Brunswick Heads Dunecare Group in and around the dunes at Brunswick Heads
12.30 – 1.30pm – Free BBQ lunch
1.30 – 4.30pm – Kayak/ Cruise/ SUP up the river with Byron Bay Eco Cruises
>4.30pm – Sundowner bevvies @ the Bruns Hotel for anyone interested!
Intrepid Landcare is all about empowering the next generation to care for our land. It’s an adventurous way forward to inspire young Australians to connect with their local communities and protect the environment, building social networks, leadership skills and supporting on-ground environmental restoration.
Co-hosted by Landcare Networks from around the region (Brunswick Valley, Tweed, Richmond and Border Ranges Richmond Valley Landcare) and supported by Intrepid Landcare, this event kick-starts an Intrepid Landcare in our community and connects the North Coast to the national movement.
