Join ANU Intrepid Landcare for a trip to Mt Taylor, located south of the ANU campus. You’ll be assisting volunteers from the Mt Taylor parkcare group to remove woody weeds like St Johns wort, verbascum, privet, wild olive, hawthorn and briar rose. Then you’ll wrap up at the Mt Taylor parkcare’s celebration of their 37th birthday!
Meet at the Hancock Library carpark, near Hancock Library and the Research School of Chemistry on the ANU campus, at 1:30pm to carpool to the event. You’ll be working onsite from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and will return to campus around 4:30pm.
No previous experience or equipment is required! Gloves and tools will be provided, however, if you have your own gloves you may wish to bring these instead of borrowing some. As some of the weeds you’ll be removing can be prickly, please wear comfortable long pants and long sleeves with sturdy enclosed shoes. Please also bring a hat and plenty of water. ANUIL will provide free snacks, so let them know in your ticket response if you have any dietary requirements.🍿🍪🥗
If you have a car and are willing to drive others to the event, your help would be greatly appreciated! Please indicate this in your ticket response.
RSVPs are essential for this event. Please register for a ticket before 5:00pm on Saturday 1st August.
If you sign up for a ticket and your plans change, please let us know at intrepidlandcareanu@gmail.com so they can confirm logistics.
See you there! 🌱
