Join Mornington Peninsula Intrepid Landcare for their habitat planting event to support the Glossy Black Cockatoo!
The South Eastern Glossy Black Cockatoo is nationally vulnerable, and its feeding habitat has been severely impacted by drought (2017–2020) and the 2019–2020 bushfires. To help with its recovery, we are reintroducing Allocasuarina and Casuarina trees—the cockatoos’ favourite feed trees—in Baxter, Victoria. Get involved in this project to support the long-term recovery of this iconic species, and gain hands-on experience in conservation, land management, and community action!
Mornington Peninsula IL will be out planting with the Watson Creek Catchment Landcare to join critical habitat for the Watson Creek Biolink! Snacks and morning tea will be provided, so come along!
When: Sunday 1st June, 10am to 1pm.
Where: 795 Frankston – Flinders Rd, Baxter, Victoria
