🤠🌳 In an exciting collaboration, the Tasmanian Student Landcare Society is teaming up with the UTAS Agriculture Society and West Pine Agriculture for a weekend of tree planting, farm tours, camping, and all the good stuff that comes with it. 🌿🚜
Why join? West Pine is on a mission to plant 1 million trees by 2030! 🌱 You’ll get hands-on as you help them move closer to this ambitious goal while learning about their innovative approach to sustainable farming, including a unique method of tree guarding that allows for both sheep and native grazing.
Logistics:
🚗 Meet-Up: Gather at the TUSA carpark before carpooling north. If the weather cooperates, we’ll head over the mountains.
🏕️ Accommodation: There’s a mix of camping and undercover sleeping available, but for now, let’s plan as if everyone will be camping. If you need to borrow gear, you can specify that during ticketing.
What to Bring:
- Tent or swag, sleeping mat and sleeping bag
- Waterproof jacket and lots of warm clothes
- Sturdy shoes
- Hat, water bottle
- Bowl, mug, and cutlery
- Toiletries
- Torch
- Lunch for Friday
- Breakfast and lunch for Saturday and Sunday
