Glossy Black Cockatoo Habitat planting || Hunter Intrepid Landcare

9:00 am - 11:00 am 24/05/2025 Monkey Face Lookout, Martinsville NSW

Join Hunter Intrepid Landcare for their first of two habitat planting event to support the Glossy Black Cockatoo!

The South Eastern Glossy Black Cockatoo is nationally vulnerable, and its feeding habitat has been severely impacted by drought (2017–2020) and the 2019–2020 bushfires. To help with its recovery, we are reintroducing Allocasuarina and Casuarina trees—the cockatoos’ favourite feed trees—in Watagans National Park, NSW. Get involved in this project to support the long-term recovery of this iconic species, and gain hands-on experience in conservation, land management, and community action! 💪
The tree planting will be followed by a plant identification walk and morning tea – what’s not to love!
When: Saturday 24th May, 9am to 11am.
Where: Monkey Face Lookout, Watagans National Park, NSW
