NSW | Wodi Wodi Waddle

8:00 am - 3:00 pm 12/03/2017 Waddi Waddi Track, Stanwell Park

HOST TRIBE: UOW Intrepid Landcare

A more adventurous event to start the session off! We will walk the Wodi Wodi Track from Stanwell Station and come back via a quick dip at the beach to freshen up.

The plan is to catch the 8:51 train on Sunday morning from Thirroul. We should arrive at Stanwell Park train station at about 9:11 and the walk starts from there!

For this trip you will need to bring the following:

  • 2L of water (!)
  • Snacks
  • Lunch
  • Swimmer/Towel
  • Sunscreen
  • Suitable walking shoes (sneakers are fine)

The Wodi Wodi Track is named after the traditional owners of the land in this area. The track has a short detour to an escarpment look out where you can see the mountains meeting the sea, and sometimes you can see the Sydney CBD. There are also a few creeks along the walk, including Stanwell creek that can be followed to where the train viaduct is located. The viaduct is an impressive 70m tall!

Intrepid Landcare practices “Leave no trace” and improving our local environment, so there will be a bag to collect any rubbish we see on the trail where we will be doing our #Take3forthesea
