Intrepid Landcare is hosting a Leadership Retreat in North East Melbourne, VIC in August 2026 for passionate young people!
The Leadership Retreat is open to anyone aged 18 – 35 years who is up for making a difference and having fun doing it. (If you are 16-18 and are keen, please be in touch with us).
Where: The Leadership Retreat will be held at Clifford Park Activity Centre, Wonga Park VIC
When: 6.00pm Friday, August 14 – 5.00pm Sunday, August 16, 2026

We have an awesome line-up of activities, from nature connection and environmental stewardship to meeting local legends – including inspiring young adults doing great stuff for the environment. We have curated Landcare and diverse conservation activities, leadership and personal development training, and more!
This event is perfect for young enthusiastic individuals who love the environment and are keen to do stuff that matters. Applications to attend are essential as there are limited spots!
To make these opportunities accessible to as many young people as possible, successful applicants are being supported by Intrepid Landcare Inc. and North East Melbourne Intrepid Landcare. This support covers accommodation and some catering, and a carefully packaged leadership development program tailored to meet the needs of young people passionate about the environment. So we do ask that you take this commitment seriously before applying.
The cost for the weekend is $50. If this cost is a barrier to you applying, please contact us to discuss and we can support you to still attend.
You must be able to attend the entire weekend (6.00pm Friday, August 14 – 5.00pm Sunday, August 16, 2026). We can help facilitate transport if you do not have private transport, and will do our best to assist with any other needs you might have – just let us know what they are.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
Led by our highly skilled and passionate facilitators, you will:
- Be exposed to a weekend of fun and adventure, exploring and meeting new people
- Hear from inspiring legends who are doing great things for the environment
- Get your hands dirty and contribute to a local conservation project
- Learn how to design ways you can step up and create opportunities for you and other young people to work towards a more sustainable future
- Learn how to create and lead community action
BUT I’M NOT A LEADER…
Being a leader means different things to different people. Leadership includes working with others, sharing ideas, and committing to a shared goal. By stepping up to do stuff that matters, you can put yourself in the leadership category. There are many amazing young adults around Australia leading the change they want to see in their communities and the world. This can range from occasionally volunteering or sharing their messages on social media, all the way to leading regular teams of volunteers on exciting conservation projects, or creating campaigns in their university or workplace. We are here to help you discover and develop that further, or create something completely new. The possibilities are endless!
