9:00 am - 12:00 pm 26/08/2017 - 27/08/2017 Mount Barney, Coulson QLD
Host Tribe: Gold Coast Intrepid Landcare
Join us for this rare volunteer opportunity at Mt. Barney within the National Park thanks to The World As I Am! The event will take place on Saturday (last of the month), and you’re welcome to stay the night for dinner and drinks! Accommodation is provided, lunch and dinner are provided on the house! 😉 This is a super special opportunity that offers so much more than your average Sunday morning tree planting.
We’ll be working on the mountain in the upper reaches of Yamahra Creek tackling an infestation of Moth Vine threatening to harm this beautiful rugged habitat. That means both follow up treatment of the existing reveg zone and pushing ever outwards from there! Then we’ll split up into teams to survey the creek’s tributaries for invasive species in the upper reaches of the catchment, which will be important information for determining future strategy. Then of course we spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying what Mt. Barney has to offer, rock pools, stunning views, and of course the wild flora and fauna we’re doing this all for! 🌱🐨🦅🐸🌲
RSVP: Get in touch with Guy Cooper (of The World As I Am) so he can organise catering, dietary requirements, transport, etc! and follow the event on Facebook to stay up to date with the discussion.
See you there!
